Sinfoniaorkesteri Vivo
Sinfoniaorkesteri Vivo is Finland’s only nationwide youth symphony orchestra. Its musicians are aged 13–25 and come from around 50 different locations across Finland. Vivo’s players are selected annually through auditions.Most of the musicians in Vivo are talented young people in lower or upper secondary school, as well as full-time music students. Vivo offers them the opportunity to perform under the guidance of professional conductors and musicians, and to gain the skills required for careers in the music field.
Alkuvoimaa – Sinfoniaorkesteri Vivo 40 years
Sinfoniaorkesteri Vivo is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. The anniversary year will culminate in the Alkuvoimaa gala concert held on 19 September 2026 at Tampere Hall. The concert will be conducted by Vivo’s former artistic director (1997–1999), Vivo patron, conductor Mikko Franck. The soloist will be the outstanding violinist Tami Pohjola.The program includes Cantus Arcticus by Einojuhani Rautavaara, a concerto for birds and orchestra; Jean Sibelius’ beloved six Humoresques for violin; and Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 1, Titan.Sat 19 Sept 2026 at 18:00
